Is the best Clint Eastwood flick EVER!
I was never a fan of his western appearances, and the “Any which way” series was a little below par, but lets face it, he rocked as Dirty Harry. Now he’s getting on a bit, what to do? Well, after bumping uglies with Rene Russo in “In the Line of Fire” Clint moved over to embracing his feminine side… Million Dollar Baby for example. Gran Torino had all the makings of a Dirty Harry start (which would have been a little disappointing given he’s in his 70’s now), but turned out to be one of his best films ever.
Clint starts off as my dad and progressively eases/warms up toward the end. Clint’s character’s racial sensitivity lends itself to a vast amount of humour throughout the movie, and the reactions of the people he interacts with mean that you can’t help but like him.
The story is a touching one, and even I had a moist cheek at the end of the movie… erm, not in a gay man-love kind of way!
