The ROYAL Swazi spa hotel

A not bad for a three star… problem is it is listed as a FIVE star. Now over here to get the “Royal” attribute you have to have permission from the ruling monarch, and either he is easily pleased or hasn’t been to visit in a while.

Now I have spent a few nights in various 5 star locations in my time, but not in the last few years. Maybe my expectations are too high, or the world has slipped a little… or maybe it’s just Swaziland. I’ll let the pictures do the talking later but even the casino is pretty tired.

So, lets try to be positive, what do you get for the entry level £150 per night room? Well, you do get access to the best wi-fi internet in the country at comparatively heart stopping 25k/second but you do have to pay for it, luckily I know a man with a dog…

In a mildly mountainous resort the concept of “ground floor” is a little lumpy at best, and no elevators anywhere we could find – that said however the tallest part of the resort is only 2 floors up.

The service is excellent here. Generally the people working here are some of the nicest in the country :) Patrick one of the floor managers in the casino is a real star and some of the dealers are really helpful… when the customers allow.

At last count, 42,000 girls have registered for the reed dance… 84,000 boobies… I have already ordered my Braille typewriter.
