three quarters of a million…
Well, about 06:23 on Thursday morning, my site spam attempt count clocked the 0.75 mill mark. Three quarters of a million attempts to penetrate one of my most special places. For those of you with a grubby mind, that particular special place is my server back-end… that didn’t make it any better did it?
Spam is a revolutionary business now, people make shed load of dosh by generating and sending it, and a lot of it is particularly harmful to your sanity if not your health. It’s interesting to note however, that while some people are still screwing the little grunt genious behind the scenes, karma can catch up with you.
5 years old today
Horrar. I’m not personally five years old today: If you talk to my boss he’d say I was actually born yesterday, but actually the first posting on this site was made 5 years ago today. And to celebrate, I thought I’d share a picture of me in my speedos… (more…)

You know how it is. You start the day, the sun is shining, and while you have to go to work you are generally prepared for the abuse you are about to suffer and so have a happy step in your stride.

Caught out by CAPTCHA
While reading with interest a couple of posts about Microsoft Live Mail and Google GMail security being penetrated, I also saw another interesting articles on CAPTCHA.
By the way CAPTCHA stands for “Completely Automated Program to Tell Computers and Humans Apart”. A bit of a mouthful but basically its those really annoying images that show you a word and you have to enter that word into a box. (more…)
