Oil giant is confused
Today, Lord Brown of Oil Giant BP was in the news again.

Mr B said:
we don’t fully understand why crude oil prices are going up at this rate
Here’s a possibility for you: you keep charging more perhaps?
“We’re not passing anything like the complete effect of crude oil prices onto the consumer," he said.
“You can see that between the first quarter of last year and this year, 30% increase in crude oil prices, and 11% in petrol prices.
Well, that’s big of you, but where is the other 19% going… Well, since you didn’t make a 19% loss on last years first quarter profits alone, I’ll assume that the consumer is having the full effect passed onto them: since petrol is not the only derivative of crude oil, it’ll be going there…
Anyone with British Gas, anyone noticed a price hike in the last 12 months?

Are you seeing a trend here at all?
Just a little bit of quick maths for you. BP profits were £30m a day back in October last year.

So assume that there are say, 1 million people working for BP and its subsidiaries, that means that every single employee is making the company £30 per day. That works out to £10,950 a year. I wonder what the pay rises are like. Not that good apparently:

And one last thing on money: Bonuses are paid in April right, where does that money come from? Oh, that’ll be the first quarter profits then, and if the general workers are not getting it, who is ![]()
Mental health
schizophrenia is defined as:
A mental illness in which the person suffers from distorted thinking, hallucinations, and a reduced ability to feel normal emotions.
Does this mean blind people are all mad… It can be the middle of the day so the darkness they see is obviously an hallucination, it may be real to them, but it isn’t to the rest of the world. taking this further, deaf people, oh and the French. I obviously talk very eloquently but to them its just a monotonous ramble of noise.
The mental health act has just gone under a bit of a change, kinda like pensions and the biggest shake-up in the last 50 years, nutballs can be forced to take medication ‘normal’ people think is best for them.
Ugly people go out on a Friday night expecting to pull, Fat people think chocolate is better than sex and bald people with bad comb-overs don’t think they look like idiots - all perfectly great examples completely deranged thinking but why can’t they be forcibly given the medication they urgently need.
Apparently there is a line between being mentally disturbed and completely loony, so therefore, are you are only disturbed if the voices tell dirty jokes at in-oportune times, but completely bonkers if they tell you to axe murder your entire family.
The scary thing is that the overstretched mental health treatment in Britain is moving more toward ‘care in the community’ and the whacknuts are complaining about being isolated and feeling alone… You hear voices and see people that are not there, how the hell can you be alone!!!
