The first black president!

Progress? Well possibly in so far as pro is the opposite of conn… There are two things wrong with the above title as outlined in the times this morning, first, he’s not president yet, and second he’s not black either. President elect Obama believes that “black” is a nagative label for African American.

Personally I would like to have seen hilary get it… Not in that way!!! But I guess someone who has a few bad days a month being in charge of the worlds foremost nuclear arsenal could be seen as a bad thing.

It’s interesting to note though, that a person who has a few bad days every month and a non-black black guy both outdid a decorated war pensioner in the popularity contest.

Cloudy motive?

In an interesting article I just read, some idiot CTO suggests we stay out of the computer cloud for a while, and suggests that Amazon’s elastic computing cloud may be inadequate for mission critical stuff… Well mr CTO numpty, with all due respect stuff off.

Here is the article:

It takes a lot to impress me, but this guy, I want to mount right now. Joe Arpaio is the Maricopa County Sheriff in Arizona and has a no tolerance outlook on crime. Here are just a few of his more interesting points. (more…)

Saving the planet.. my buttocks!

All the tree hugging hippies ramble on about saving the planet… think about it for a minute…

Mankind is like a bad dose of planetary herpes. Once we pollute the planet enough the human race will kill itself off and cease to exist, leaving the planet to recover and only bear the scar of humanisation.

don’t think it’s true? The planet is 2.5 billion years old, it collided with another planet that became our moon and still survived. Think back to “the asteroid incident” 65 million years ago, killed off 95% of the species on the planet… the Earth… fine!

So if you’re that worried about the planet, end the suffering and go buy a huge V8 that does 2 miles to the gallon.

Important people wear watches

It has come to my attention that all the important people in the world wear watches. If you are VERY important then you generally have important people around you… who are wearing watches.

George W Junior has been seen wearing a watch, but he is an important person wannabe.

By the way, a watch consisting of the output from a permanent marker does not count.

Dental records

When a plane crashes sometimes they say on the news that the remain have to be identified by dental records. This is something that has suddenly interested me, not that my name has been removed from the no fly list yet, but if they don’t know who the hell you are, how do they know your dentist?

An olympic stuff up

Well, I am still investigating the rumour (apparently some bollocks on Radio 4 this morning) that you cannot use the word ‘Olympic’ any more, or ‘2012’ but looking at the official logo which according to reports "… will evolve in the run-up to the Games." has attracted some interesting publicity.

The dark arts

I always thought that planning things was a skill that most people can acquire, however have recently tried for myself, the dark art of project management seems to be less about planning and more about reducing the ability for flapping idiots to cause harm to an otherwise simple process.

Cleared… well, kinda.

In my previous post where I had defended my companies interests at the expense of being threatened with the sack by a company I don’t actually work for, the full report was published today. Well, I say full report. It was, in actual fact a bullet pointed version of the report I had sent them but specifics removed and some interesting comments added. For example the fact the was no evidence of my activity…
