Big words are the new Britian

Gone are the days when the BBC used to use simple words in clear received pronunciation, since it had to appeal to all classes. Now there is no class system any more (ahem) it seems they allow the ranting idiots to blather stupidity all over the place. I am no great lover of Jeremy Paxman, but he uses some pretty stupid words that even when you know the meaning does not necessarily mean you can understand the sentence.

For the lower class morons among us:

  • Fawning: (verb) means to gain favour though flattery.
  • Doggerel: (noun) means a comic verse of irregular measure.

Any clearer?

Fuck off Paxman.

In an interesting article I just read, some idiot CTO suggests we stay out of the computer cloud for a while, and suggests that Amazon’s elastic computing cloud may be inadequate for mission critical stuff… Well mr CTO numpty, with all due respect stuff off.

Changes in murder laws proposed

The Ministry of Justice has stressed that the law would be changed to make it clear that someone who discovers their partner is having an affair would be unable to argue they had been “seriously wronged”

BBC NEWS | Changes in murder laws proposed.

Damn we are getting liberal. At least this currently rules out “He pulled out at the junction and I felt ‘seriously wronged’ so I axe manslaughtered his arse Milud” (more…)

Politically incorrect, but copyrighted none the less

So I was watching a protest against Guantanamo Bay human rights violations and I noticed the orange jump suits… I then thought to myself “this might be a cool way of making some cash!"

I investigated a few things and I fould out that the orange jump suit and font used on it are copyrighted by the US Department of Corrections. (more…)

Failure at the playground

I currently work in an environment that is so frustrating due to the lack of communication in general, but I think it pales into insignificance when compared with the Olympic logo design committees around the world. Not satisfied with their last attempt for London in 2012, then decided to lend a hand to the Chinese committee for Beijing 2008. (more…)

Caught out by CAPTCHA

While reading with interest a couple of posts about Microsoft Live Mail and Google GMail security being penetrated, I also saw another interesting articles on CAPTCHA.

By the way CAPTCHA stands for “Completely Automated Program to Tell Computers and Humans Apart”. A bit of a mouthful but basically its those really annoying images that show you a word and you have to enter that word into a box. (more…)

Idiotic youth of today

Some numpty reckons that banning cheap booze in supermarketswill stop under-age binge drinking. Probably the same guy that reckons banning condoms will stop teenage pregnancy, or that because drugs are illegal, no-one takes them.

Saving the planet.. my buttocks!

All the tree hugging hippies ramble on about saving the planet… think about it for a minute…

Mankind is like a bad dose of planetary herpes. Once we pollute the planet enough the human race will kill itself off and cease to exist, leaving the planet to recover and only bear the scar of humanisation.

don’t think it’s true? The planet is 2.5 billion years old, it collided with another planet that became our moon and still survived. Think back to “the asteroid incident” 65 million years ago, killed off 95% of the species on the planet… the Earth… fine!

So if you’re that worried about the planet, end the suffering and go buy a huge V8 that does 2 miles to the gallon.
